I remember when we first met. We used spend lots of time playing Words with Friends and using Google Maps to meet up with old friends. We’d take lots of pictures, and sometimes we’d share them with Facebook. We used to talk to her dad on the way to work. Now I just sit her bag for the whole day…including the ride to and from work. I don’t even get looked at for most of the morning, and when I do, it’s usually to get read news articles. Boring!
It feels like we have the same boring routine every day: check the weather and the news, and then I get tossed into a pocket or bag full of keys that scratch me. Some time in the afternoon, we send texts of grocery lists or reminders about where the kids are going after school. Messenger gets checked occasionally. The chips on my screen are getting to me, although at least I’m not totally cracked like some of the others at the charging station.
I keep trying to convince the calendar to add something fun like “2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Make a scary iMovie trailer.” We had so much fun doing that last summer. All the others in the charging station have people who like fun games. Sometimes I wish she would skip the podcasts and audio books, and we could binge some Netflix instead. Maybe during winter break….
